The Horizon 2020 (H2020) project, as part of the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) of the European Commission (EC), has opened five calls for transport and energy research funding worth more than € 550m.
Two calls are open in the field of mobility for growth, two are open in the field of competitive low carbon energy, and the final call is open for in the field of smart cities and communities.
The calls vary in funding amounts, ranging from a budget of € 21m for international co-operation in aeronautics with China, Japan and Canada, to € 190m for research proposals on the market uptake of existing and emerging renewable electricity and sustainable bioenergy.
Applicants are required to submit their proposal electronically, following the link from the call page on the Participant Portal. A full guide for proposal submission and evaluation is also available. Evaluation of the submission will take place in stages, begining in mid-2015. Results are expected to be announced in October 2015.
Also open are calls for new members of the EC’s independent expert database, from which proposal evaluators are drawn.
