During this year’s Transport 2021 fair that took place in Herning, Denmark last week, Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO CEO, presented the organisation’s view on the future development of European mobility in the context of the greener transition. With more than 280 exhibitors and 24.000 visitors attending this renowned transport conference and exhibition, the fair was the perfect place to find innovative technologies, new services and creative ideas in the search for inspiration in the mobility sector. Denmarks’s Transport 2021 Fair also revealed how the transport industry can still come together and presented a positive outlook for the future of events, post-pandemic.
A key vision of ERTICO’s 2030 Strategy, is to bring intelligence into cleaner and sustainable mobility by working to reduce the impact of activities on the environment. Transport currently accounts for almost a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. At the Transport 2021 fair, Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO CEO, presented the organisation’s vision for sustainable mobility during a session that focused on how automation, digitalisation, and electrification can support the green transition of the mobility sector and how this is being implemented in practice. The session was opened by Danish Minister for Transport, Benny Engelbrecht, followed by representatives from DareDisrupt, Transportøkonomisk Institut, DTL, tGrace and DFDS.
‘I was delighted to be in Denmark to participate in the Transport 2021 event and share ERTICO’s vision on the future developments of green mobility transition in Europe. It was a perfect meeting place for the Nordic transport industry, and I am looking forward to more innovative ideas on how we can support green and sustainable mobility transitions at the ITS World Congress in Hamburg in October,’ says Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO CEO.
Launched in 1988, the Transport 2021 Fair aims to create an annual meeting place for the transport industry, located in Herning, Denmark. Since the Fair was first held, more than 450,000 professionals from the transport industry have visited MCH Messecenter Herning.
