Discussions about the future of mobility are still ongoing and are more topical than ever. The global health crisis caused by COVID-19 has meant that transport policy is being re-visited and re-shaped across the world. Due to the lockdown, prestigious events in 2020 such as the ITS European Congress in Lisbon, the ITS Central Eastern European Congress in Kazan and ITS World Congress in Los Angeles, where traditionally these type of discussions are held, are being postponed and ERTICO is bringing the ITS conversation on-line. In this context, ERTICO Europe hosted its very first Virtual Conference, supported by Partner BlackBerry on 3-4 June. This will be followed with a Virtual ITS European Congress in the autumn.
‘Empowering mobility with secure and accessible data’ the first virtual conference in a series was hosted by ERTICO in collaboration with Partner BlackBerry. Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO CEO said ‘Despite this health crisis, as a sector we need to stay on track, readjust our priorities, continue our roadmap of changes and prepare for new intelligent mobility schemes. Although not as ideal as meeting face-to-face, our recent Virtual Conference is a proven success with over 500 participants in attendance. It offered the opportunity for the European Commission, public authorities and industry stakeholders to present their views and answer questions about the future of mobility in the post-COVID era. A big gap has been left due to the cancellation or postponement of all events this year and to respond to this demand and keep the ITS community connected and engaged we are proud to announce that ERTICO will host a Virtual ITS European Congress in the autumn.’
The Virtual Congress and Exhibition will provide the opportunity to learn, discuss the latest development and network amongst participants. Details will follow soon and ERTICO looks forward to welcome you virtually before our next ITS World Congress in Hamburg in 2021. Keep connected with ERTICO. The ERTICO Academy also regularly hosts webinar on a variety of topics related to ITS.
