As the Smart City Expo World Congress returns to Barcelona, ERTICO is set to continue its engagement with global leaders in urban mobility, bringing expertise and its innovative vision to the forefront of the event. As a thought leader in the intelligent transport sector, ERTICO’s presence will offer attendees a unique opportunity to learn more about its public-private partnership offers, alongside a myriad of its activities. ERTICO’s agenda during the three days will include several parallel sessions to present some of the leading European-funded projects, including the SUM project and the metaCCAZE project. In addition, amidst the vibrant exhibition, the ERTICO booth in Hall 2, Street A, Stand no 165 will welcome visitors to discover the ITS European Congress, hosted in Seville, 19-21 May 2025, including the Commercial Partnership and Exhibition opportunities and the Congress Programme. 

ERTICO’s involvement in the three-day event is set to inspire cities worldwide to advance cleaner, safer, and more sustainable mobility solutions. The team, specialising in urban mobility, will deliver presentations and engage in parallel sessions, including the two leading projects SUM and MetaCCAZE during CIVITAS New Mobility Services (NMS) Community workshop hosted as part of the TOMORROW MOBILITY section. This discussion will cover the current state of mobility and how user attitudes and engagement shape mobility solutions in cities and Living Labs. These insights will demonstrate how co-creation activities guide the design and evaluation of mobility services, and how the impact of these services is being monitored. The session, ‘Seamless Urban Mobility Services Event – Solutions for Better Design, Evaluation, and Monitoring of New Mobility Services’, will take place on Tuesday 5 November, from 15:00 -18:00 in Room 3.12, Area CC3. 

During the TOMORROW MOBILITY section, Joost Vantomme, CEO of ERTICO will be participating in the Thematic Roundtable on ‘Autonomous Technologies for Improved Mobility’ on Tuesday 5 November, from 12:45 -13:25 in Hall 2, Tomorrow.Mobility Room. The discussion forum, highlighting innovative technologies for improved mobility, will present a roundtable approach to navigating the different contexts of urban mobility deployment, both terrestrial and urban air mobility.  The dialogue, moderated by Daniel Serra, EIT Urban Mobility will be joined by Peter Staelens from Eurocities, Martin Kahl from FISITA, Harald Proff from Deloitte and Catriona Meehan from Startingup PA. Among the discussion points, the speakers will discuss the European evolutions in the ITS domain with elements of CCAM, data, Artificial Intelligence, traffic management, smart freight and logistics. 

On Wednesday, 6 November, ERTICO will present in two key sessions. The first session, represented by Dr Tamara Djukic, Head of Green and Urban Mobility at ERTICO, will explore how data-driven approaches improve efficiency and sustainability across urban mobility sectors, including smart tourism, urban logistics, and passenger transport (public and private). This Agora session on ‘Data-Driven Decisions: Paving the Way for Sustainable Smart Cities’, will take place from 11:30-12:15 in Hall 2, Orange Agora, joined by Georg Houben, Policy Officer at the EU Commission’s Directorate General for Energy (DG ENER), Itir Coskun, Innovation Manager at SWARCO, Georgia Ayfantopoulou, Deputy Director & Research DirectorHellenic Institute of Transport (ΗΙΤ) of CERTH, and Barry Rogers, Head of the Dublin City Tourism UnitDublin City.  

The second, organised by the ERTICO Partnership, will discuss innovative solutions for the urban agenda with practical examples and lessons learned during the AGORA session ‘Connecting the Dots in Urban Mobility’, from 17:30-18:15. The session, moderated by Agne Vaitekenaite, Partnership Development Manager at ERTICO will bring together key representatives from ERTICO-ITS Europe, MaaS Alliance, ITS Spain, and the City of Seville to explore collaborative pathways for future urban mobility and also policy aspects as part of the discussion mix: Joost Vantomme, CEO of ERTICO, Roelof Hellemans, Secretary General of MaaS Alliance, Dr Tamara Djukic, Green and Urban Mobility Lead at ERTICO, Julio García Ramón, President of ITS Catalunya, and Diego Gomez Garcia, representing the Municipality of Seville.  

ERTICO is also supporting the MaaS Alliance, hosting its 10th MaaS Summit, an annual invitation-only event for its members. The Summit, scheduled for Thursday 7 November from 9.30 to 12.30, will offer a prime opportunity for networking and collaboration. This year’s discussions will focus on the Alliance’s significant publication, ‘The Growth and Future of Integrated Public & Private Mobility’, along with the global Mobility4Users Community.
