The Charter was launch on 24 January 2004, in Brussels. The purpose of the Charter is to involve civil society in the challenge of reaching the common target of the White Paper of halving the number of road deaths by 2010.
The European Road Safety Charter has been launched in Brussels on 29 January 2004, in a launch ceremony chaired by Vice-President of the European Commission Loyola de Palacio.
