Free public transport in Brussels Region during periods of severe air pollution

In their recent management agreement the government of the Brussels Region and the Brussels Region public transport company stipulate all passengers can make free use of busses, trams and subways throughout the Brussels Region from 2008 onwards during periods of severe air pollution. With this measure, the government of the Brussels Region aims at combating smog and the particulate matter (PM).
