France’s Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CESE) has produced a report recommending that transport operators and companies embrace digital services.
Six major actions are detailed in the report, including putting digitalisation at the centre of a new concept of mobility services, as well as encouraging innovation and technological advances in the transport sector.
CESE has also recommended integrated ticketing, allowing travellers to complete journeys outside of the administrative boundaries of cities or regions. It is also promoting forms of transport such as cycling, and car- and lift-sharing to offer more flexibility at the beginning and end of journeys.
The organisation also hopes that a European champion of digital mobility services will emerge, combining all forms of collective and individual transport across Europe.
