The Goodwill Ambassadors to the ITS World Congress 2018 in Copenhagen were gathered at Copenhagen City Hall on Friday May 4. The Goodwill Ambassadors are leaders from the transport industry within the field of green mobility, Smart City and ITS. Together with external partners and participants, they provide their input and knowledge on selected areas in order to improve Copenhagen and Denmark’s international competitiveness and to identify the potential for development.

Thanks to their international background and cross-sector expertise, their goal is to create a network with governments and industry players to promote different cities and countries. Today, Goodwill Ambassadors are present in 30 countries and help cities to open their doors to different realities by attracting international conferences in many different ways.

The Mayor of Technical & Environmental Affairs, Ninna Hedeager Olsen, welcomed the ambassadors and highlighted that future ITS solutions must be beneficial to the citizens. The Mayor kickstarted the debate and the brainstorming of new ideas – ideas which will benefit the congress and attract more commercial partners and demonstration projects.

Goodwill Ambassadors have been key players in organising the 25th ITS World Congress in Copenhagen, an event which will focus on “Quality of life”.
