The IRU is pleased to announce the publication of new European Guidelines on Cargo Securing for Road Transport, which provide basic practical advice and instructions to all stakeholders involved in loading, unloading and cargo securing, including carriers and shippers. Similar to the IRU International Guidelines, these EU Guidelines include examples of different types of goods being secured, such as vehicles or palletised goods.

Available in 22 languages, the European Guidelines will also be useful to enforcement bodies performing inspections in accordance with the European Directive on the technical roadside inspection of the roadworthiness of commercial vehicles (2014/47/EU).
