ITS in your pocket App contest open!
ITS in your pocket is an App development competition open to companies, teams and individuals who want their proposals to be considered for a total prize sum of 100,000€. The competition will give traffic application proposals a wide European visibility and the opportunity to get feedback from experts in intelligent transport systems.
To be considered for the contest, Applications should provide solutions to improve transport safety, efficiency and sustainability, make transport systems more comfortable and should focus on the user needs.
The competition is divided into two tracks:
- Products and Services – which will be presented at the ITS European Congress 2014 in Helsinki next June. Application period for track “Products and Services” is open until May 7, 2014.
- Ideas – which can be developed into an app with the support of Demola Network, an incubator for project development present in 5 countries. Developers, start-ups and students who require assistance on working on a new concept can apply until 9 February.

The Call for Papers and Special Interest Session proposals is now closed!
More than 300 papers and 60 Special Interest Session proposals were submitted for consideration and inclusion in the programme of ITS Helsinki 2014. This year, for the first time, in addition to the Technical and Scientific papers, the new category Commercial paper was included in the programme. This new group of papers includes proposals that are considered as near-market research work and aim to create a new idea or product, or improve an existing device or service.
The EPC and the Congress team wish to thank all the authors who submitted their abstracts. The evaluation process will soon start and the authors will be notified by end of February.
