The MOBiNET platform, inclusive of the MOBiNET components, tools and services, have been thoroughly verified and validated in release 3.1 during the second half of 2016. In parallel with the MOBiNET platform development, MOBiNET designed and developed a number of reference applications (“services”) for trialling in pilot sites in 8 countries. The applications chosen show substantial gains thanks to MOBiNET. Services implemented act as platform use case demonstrations and “proof of concept” to test and validate the platform at the project test sites.
MOBiNET is an e-marketplace and a technical platform enabling the interactions between suppliers, developers and users of mobility related content and services. It offers a centralised directory for publishing and finding Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-consumer (B2C) services as well as functionalities enabling and supporting interoperability between data sources. The services will be offered across Europe without the need for standardised hardware.
During the course of the project, several services have been identified and selected because of their potential of improving the efficiency and sustainability of the transport system, as well as providing more comfortable and seamless mobility options for the end-users through the use of the MOBiNET platform and its functionalities. Some innovative new services have been enhanced by developing and implementing MOBiNET functionality. These have been adapted for MOBiNET compatibility and compliance to validate and demonstrate that the platform functionalities serve the needs of the services.
Selected services enabled or enhanced by MOBiNET include Green Light Optimal Speed Advice, Usage Based Insurance, Multi Modal Travel Assistant, Ad-hoc Priority Route, Non-Stop Truck, Parking Services, B2B Traffic related services, Demand Responsive Transit or Dial-a-Ride, Real-Time Traffic Information, and VoiceInfo.
The document attached describes the selected services, how MOBiNET functionalities were integrated and how the platform benefits or enables the service. In doing so, the document details the actors involved in each service and their roles, and the concept behind each service, specifying the architectures with and without the MOBiNET platform. In particular, the components of the platform used by each service are highlighted, along with the benefits brought by MOBiNET.

The final MOBiNET platform release, release 4.0, is commissioned in February 2017; verification and validation will happen in the spring 2017. The final MOBiNET event will take place at the ITS European Congress in Strasbourg from 19 to 22 June 2017.
