The ITS Community will also have the chance to interact with some of the influential innovators who will be bringing their ideas and solutions to the Congress in Dubai.
The second webinar will take place on Thursday 16 May, 14:00-15:00 CEST on the topic of Challenges of Clean and Eco Mobility.
Clean and eco mobility plays a critical role in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating transportation-related environmental impacts. While there are many potential advantages, there are also some concerns, beyond the high cost of electric vehicles (EVs), standing in the way of widespread deployment. These relate primarily to the development of infrastructure including the establishment of charging stations for EVs and the integration of renewable energy sources to power them sustainably. The environmental footprint of EV battery production requires advancements in battery technology, recycling processes, and sustainable materials sourcing.
Apart from technological advancements, policy support, incentives, and subsidies are crucial for making clean mobility accessible to a broader demographic and incentivizing adoption. Furthermore, promoting public awareness and education about the benefits of eco-friendly transportation options is essential for changing consumer behaviour and attitudes towards clean mobility. Overcoming these challenges requires a multi-faceted approach involving collaboration between governments, industries, and communities to create a sustainable and equitable transportation system for the future.
In this webinar experts from the European Commission and from around the world will discuss some of the measures that are being developed to overcome some of the main challenges of clean and eco mobility.
