The OPTICITIES project participated in the General Assembly of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (EIP-SCC), which took place on the 21 May within the framework of the Metropolitan Solutions Trade Fair in Berlin (Germany).
OPTICITIES is officially committed to the EIP Smart Cities and Communities, specifically in the Action Cluster (AC) Sustainable Urban Mobility. During the General Assembly of the EIP, the session on Sustainable Urban Mobility was the most popular, as it attracted up to 30 participants. It comprised discussion and interaction with the audience on topics such as the role of cities in greening the transport network.
Manuela Flachi (ERTICO) gave a presentation focused on the open data standard developed in the framework of CEN and ISO, as well as on the support that OPTICITIES can offer by providing feedback on suggested solutions for optimising the transport network. Along these lines, she highlighted that OPTICITIES is now considered as a reference project for CEN in the field of Urban ITS.
Moreover, Ms. Flachi announced the OPTICITIES stakeholder forum that will soon be launched to allow municipal stakeholder share knowledge and face together the challenges associated to smart mobility. This is in line with the European Commission’s approach to ‘support cities to help themselves’. More information will be provided in the Tutorial session organised by the project on 5 October, in parallel to the ITS World Congress in Bordeaux.
