PRESS RELEASE
Brussels, 19 June 2017
ITS Observatory goes live to help speed European ITS deployment
Until now there was no single access point for information about ITS deployment, businesses and people. The ITS Observatory brings a new kind of shared knowledge resource including information about ITS deployments, outcomes, impacts and benefits.
The ITS Observatory platform is an interactive information marketplace with features to support a dynamic ITS community of public authorities, system owners and suppliers, service providers and users, helping them to get connected and discover and deliver effective solutions.
To support ITS deployment, the ITS Observatory is a self-service and social network for ITS, where stakeholders can present their business, highlight their ITS deployment, or promote their products and services in the platform. Registered members can use the online ITS Community to post questions or requests, and start or enter a discussion.
Other features include solution “success stories” and lessons learned. Interested users can connect with owners, operators and suppliers to discuss impacts, benefits and costs with people they trust. Observatory content also includes information and insights about policy & legislation and standards, latest ITS news and events, and links to important ITS online resources.
The ITS Observatory platform www.itsobservatory.info is launched at the ITS European Congress in Strasbourg 19 to 22 June 2017. ITS Observatory presence includes the following highlights:
- ITS Observatory has a kiosk at the ERTICO stand in the exhibition area (booth C12), where the project team will help visitors to register, to upload ITS content and get active with the ITS online community
- “ITS Observers” will visit all exhibitors and sign up new members on the spot, helping them present their business, highlight their ITS deployment and promote their products & services in the platform
- At Special Interest Session 12 Knowledge Management in action – Preserving What We Know and What We’ll Learn (Meeting room Amsterdam, Tuesday 20 June 2017, 11h00-12h30) Paul Kompfner, project leader, will present “ITS Observatory – a new approach for ITS knowledge”.
