During the Open Day, held on Tuesday 15 October in a hybrid format, representatives from the Host Committee gathered at the Fibes Convention Center in Seville to present an exclusive overview of the 16th ITS European Congress, including Programme highlights and Commercial Partnership and Exhibition opportunities.

The event began with a welcome address by Álvaro Pimentel, Councilor of Mobility of Seville City, who officially announced the new dates, 19-21 May 2025. Joost Vantomme, CEO of ERTICO, presented the opening remarks, outlining the unique value of organising the ITS European Congress, as well as the strategic importance of the event. Ana Luz Jiménez, Provincial Head of Traffic of Seville, Coordinator for Andalusia Region in the General Directorate of Traffic, gave an introductory speech and highlighted the session on ‘Clean, Resilient & Connected Mobility’.

Attendees also heard from Mario Muñoz-Atenat, Vice Minister of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing, Andalusian Government, who shared feedback from the Junta de Andalucía and the regional perspective, including the relevance of Andalusia to host the Congress in Seville. Didier Gorteman, Chief Financial and Operations Officer at ERTICO gave a speech on the valuable insights related to the event and amplified the important element of cooperation that these events foster.

The Programme highlights were presented by Rita Bhandari, Senior Programme Manager at ERTICO, followed by Jerome Buchanan, Sales Lead at ERTICO, who outlined the commercial opportunities for exhibitors, partners, and sponsors in English, and Luis Briceno, ITS Spain who provided the Spanish version.

The Open Day served as a platform for fostering dialogue, answering key questions, and sharing the strategic vision behind the upcoming Congress. The presentations provided valuable insights into the Congress Programme, including both the High-Level and Technical Programme, while offering a detailed overview of the commercial opportunities available.
