Global mobility experts and scholars are encouraged to submit their abstracts for next year’s Velo-city Global conference before the 18 September deadline.
Velo-city brings together those involved in policy, promotion and the provision of cycling facilities and programs.
Engineers, planners, architects, social marketers, academic researchers, environmentalists, business, and industry representatives join forces with government at all levels ranging from municipal politicians, policy makers and educators in knowledge sharing in order to build effective trans-national partnerships.
The theme of 2016 conference, which is being held in Taipei (Taiwan) from 27 February to 1 March, is ‘Evolution of Cycling’. Submitted papers must fall into one of five themes: Urban Transition; Moving Lifestyles; Sustainable Economy; Sharing Society; and Design in Motion.
The abstract should also include more than one sub-themes (listed on the conference website (link is external)) Velo-city began in 1980 in Bremen (Germany) with deep ties in the founding of the European Cyclists’ Federation. Since then conferences have been held in cities including Copenhagen (Denmark), Brussels (Belgium), Barcelona (Spain) and Montreal (Canada) and attract about 1 000 delegates.f
