The city of Barcelona has approved a tender for 62 km of bike paths for 2017.

The planned work is in line with the objectives of the city’s urban mobility plan, and will include bicycle connections with L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, El Prat and Santa Coloma de Gramenet.

According to Barcelona’s councillor for mobility, Mercedes Vidal, the new bike lanes will be distributed through 30 different actions with the intention of promoting cycling as a sustainable and efficient means of transport in the city.
