EU policy on transport infrastructure aims to facilitate transport across Europe and reduce regional, economic and social disparities by developing interconnected infrastructure for air, road, rail and shipping (the trans-European transport network).
This policy is governed by Regulation 1315/2013, which sets guidelines for: national and EU investment in transport infrastructure; and targeted funding under the Connecting Europe Facility and other relevant EU schemes. This policy notably looks at facilitating transport flows across Member States and supporting territorial, economic and social cohesion.
In line with the Action Plan included in the Commission’s Communication on the European Green Deal, and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy, a proposal for a revision of the TEN-T Regulation is planned in 2021. This consultation forms part of the impact assessment that will underpin the legislative proposal for a revised TEN-T Regulation. The objective of this consultation is to ensure that, in addition to the organisations directly involved in the TEN-T policy, other stakeholder groups and the general public are provided with the possibility to express their opinion about the topic.
All citizens and organisations are welcome to contribute to this consultation by 5 May 2021.
