Finland is working on a future mobility service that will enable passengers to travel door to door using different forms of transport with just one ticket.
Developed by state rail company VR Group, the aim of the intermodal service is to allow passengers to buy combinations of mobility services in a single unit of travel – known as a ‘travel chain’.
Once travellers select a starting point and destination, the service will pick out for them the most functional routes, modes of transport and combinations.
