ITS United Kingdom the Intelligent Transport Systems association for the UK has elected two new Directors.
At the recent Council meeting in London Giles Perkins of Mouchel was elected as Communications Director and Gary Umpleby of Hogia was elected as Finance Director. Gary is also the Chairman of ITS (UK)’s Public Transport Interest Group.
Welcoming the two new Directors the Chairman of ITS (UK) Jeremy Evans said: “I am delighted to welcome Giles and Gary among our Directors. The Directors peform a valuable service in overseeing the work of the ITS (UK) Secretariat in their respective areas. These positions are an important part of our governance process.”
Giles Perkins said: “I’m looking forward to being able to help ITS (UK) at a time when the opportunities for the sector are significant and developments in ITS technology are advancing at a rapid pace”.
The new Finance Director Gary Umpleby added ”I am delighted to be invited to perform the role of the ITS (UK) Finance Director which gives me the opportunity to give a little back to the organisation that has provided so much benefit in the world of ITS to both the company for which I work and also to me as an individual. I am also grateful to my predecessor Silke Elvery of TfL for her stewardship of the finances over a number of years – while a hard act to follow I will endeavour to continue her good work.”
