With a vision of safe and smooth transport for all, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has joined the ERTICO Partnership.

Since 2006, RTA has been responsible for planning and executing transport and traffic projects in Dubai, preparing legislation and strategic plans and developing safe integrated solutions of road systems and marine networks in line with the city’s economic development and with the highest international standards.

The partnership agreement with ERTICO has been signed recently by Eng. Maitha Bin Adai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency. “Being a Partner of ERTICO will benefit RTA in many ways, starting with gaining an insight into the latest advancements in the European and International ITS market. This will also enable the public authority to further advance its reputation as a global leader in ITS and smart mobility”, she says.

Thanks to ERTICO’s unique and varied partnership of 120 members across eight sectors, RTA will now be part of an environment that will allow them to build knowledge and know-how in advanced ITS deployment, and anticipate key market trends in Europe and beyond. This would be through various direct and virtual platforms of engagements and meetings with other stakeholders at ERTICO’s ITS European and World Congresses and Partnership delegations in the US, China and Japan.

“The ERTICO Partnership will benefit from RTA’s expertise through the development of joint initiatives as well as gaining market insight and feedback, with access to the latest tools, techniques and standards currently applied in the Middle-East region. ERTICO’s team of experts will ensure that RTA is aligned with best international practice and further enhance this Public Authority’s knowledge on ITS. This will be implemented through targeted trainings and peer-to-peer support with regular review of RTA’s action plans and technical standards”, says Zeljko Jeftic, Deputy Director Innovation and Deployment at ERTICO.
