An EU-US Joint Declaration on Research Cooperation in Cooperative Systems has been signed in Washington D.C. It aims at identifying joint research areas for car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure communication and to give strong support to the development of global open standards for cooperative systems.
By means of their collaboration both signatories strive to avoid duplication of research efforts and to preclude the adoption of redundant standards wherever possible.
