On 5 August, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey published Turkey’s new ITS Strategy and 2020-2023 Action Plan. With 31 Actions planned under five strategic goals (developing ITS infrastructure, providing sustainable intelligent mobility, creating a liveable environment and conscious society, ensuring road safety and data sharing, as well as security), Minister Karaismailoğlu underlined the important role that stakeholders and external organisations play in shaping this strategy. ERTICO is proud to be one of the external organisations that is in constant cooperation with ITS Turkey and the Turkish National transport authorities.
“ERTICO is glad to have supported ITS Turkey in laying out this strategy, by means of close cooperation with the ITS stakeholders and decision-makers in Turkey as well as training provided on important ITS topics and looks forward to further collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Transport in the future.” said ERTICO’s Director of Innovation & Deployment, Dr. Johanna Tzanidaki.
International cooperation and creating opportunities for cooperation between the public and private sector, which lie at the heart of ERTICO’s mission, are revealed once again to be essential in bringing forward progress in the ITS sector.
