ERTICO has recently concluded a series of three cross-sector meetings that brought together representatives from eight diverse sectors within its Partnership. These meetings served as crucial platforms for collaborative dialogues and knowledge exchanges, aiming to inspire integrated and holistic approaches while identifying synergies for driving innovation and sustainable mobility solutions in the dynamic field of intelligent transportation.
These cross-sector meetings have become a beacon for collaborative efforts within the ERTICO Partnership, fostering an environment conducive to innovation, knowledge exchange, and cross-sectoral collaboration. Positioned at the forefront of the industry’s evolution, ERTICO plays a unique role in steering the development of a connected mobility future through inclusive and integrated approaches. By encouraging and facilitating knowledge exchange, ERTICO accelerates the development of intelligent, inclusive, and connected mobility solutions in collaboration with its Partners. The cross-sectoral approach adopted aligns with the holistic vision of the Partnership and its commitment to collectively addressing challenges, ultimately contributing to the evolution of safer, more efficient, and environmentally conscious transportation systems on a global scale.

The meetings featured detailed contributions from representatives of the European Commission (EC), DG RTD, DG MOVE, DG GROW and DG CNECT. These insights added a significant dimension to the discussions, providing regulatory perspectives and aligning policy considerations with industry advancements, instrumental in fostering collaboration and driving innovation across sectors.
Dedicated breakout sessions during the meetings provided Partners with an interactive platform to exchange ideas, discuss barriers, explore opportunities, and identify enablers with a clear focus on deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). These sessions facilitated a collaborative exploration of challenges and innovative solutions, leveraging the collective expertise of diverse stakeholders to advance smart mobility.
The ERTICO team presented a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s recent endeavours, highlighting initiatives and developments from the second quarter of 2023 to the present, with a focus on Traffic and Transport and Public Authorities meetings. Insights into ongoing projects, innovation platforms, and a special emphasis on the upcoming ITS WC 2024 event in Dubai were shared. Members unanimously recognized the significance of these activities, acknowledging ERTICO’s pivotal role in driving sector growth. The contributions of ERTICO were praised for their substantial impact on the ITS industry, underscoring their importance. Additionally, members commended the exceptional work done by the ERTICO team in organizing the ITS European Congress 2023, despite challenges related to the contributions of the host city. These efforts were met with enthusiastic applause, emphasizing their positive reflection on ERTICO’s accomplishments and serving as a testament to the team’s dedication and commitment to advancing the field of intelligent transportation systems.
