In December last year in Paris, 195 nations agreed to limit global warming to well below 2%. The EU and its Member States have set their own carbon reduction targets to achieve this goal. ICT offers significant solutions towards a low carbon world and more sustainable growth.
In this context, the European Internet Forum organised a dinner debate on the role of ICT to green the economy. The event was held on 26 April 2016 at the European Parliament.
ERTICO’s CEO, Mr. Hermann Meyer was invited to present the key importance of ITS. In his own words, “investments in the further evolution of ICT are crucial for Europe because it enables important trends in the transport sector which depend on excellent connectivity and high data processing capacities”. These major trends are connected and automated driving, smart logistics and mobility as a service.
