2018 has been proclaimed the official Year of Multimodal Transport by European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc. In this context, ERTICO – ITS Europe, together with IRU and MaaS Alliance is proud to launch the “2018: Year of Multimodality” event, a two-day occasion to focus on achieving sustainable and efficient multimodal transport for people and goods.
The event will kick off on 24 January 2018 with a cocktail reception at the Residence Palace in Brussels and will be hosted by MEP Wim van de Camp. We welcome all interested parties to join us in this launch and to learn more about this Commission’s initiative!
The following day, on 25 January, the first of the series “Focus On” thematic workshop on MaaS, open to ERTICO Partners, Innovation Platform members and members of the Network of National ITS Associations. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in thematic and panel discussions with representatives from European Commission’s DG MOVE, Ministerial Advisers and industry representatives.
Focussing on multimodality means focussing on different means of transport, from maritime to aviation and road. As mentioned by Commissioner Bulc in a speech to the TRAN committee, initiatives will be launched in 2018 in all transport fields, in order to improve the integration of all transport modes at European level.
ERTICO – ITS Europe is proud to participate in initiatives aimed at improving the quality of transport systems for European citizens and to organise events in which the exchange of ideas can take place.
